The International Criminal Court in The Hague has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and top Hamas commander Mohammed Deif, who was likely killed in an Israeli airstrike last July.
The unprecedented move to issue arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant was met with immediate fury by Israeli government officials and supporters of the State of Israel around the world.
The ICC says the warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant are for “crimes against humanity and war crimes” committed in the aftermath of the October 7 attack against Israel by Hamas terrorists.
Hamas’ main benefactor is the Islamic Republic of Iran and its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The IRGC is under the direct command of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Khamenei.
The ICC says Netanyahu and Gallant “bear criminal responsibility for”:
1. The war crime of starvation as a method of warfare.
2. The crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts.
3. The war crime of intentionally directing an attack against the civilian population.
Israel is not a member of the ICC, but 124 nations are members, including most of Western Europe, many countries in the Asia-Pacific region, and Latin America. The United States is also not a member of the ICC.
Netanyahu and Gallant risk arrest if they travel to any of the countries that are members of the ICC.
The last head of state or head of government to have an ICC arrest warrant issued against them was the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, for his actions against Ukraine.
Putin has since avoided travel to ICC member countries, with the exception of one: Mongolia. However, Mongolian authorities did not arrest him.
It is difficult to imagine any nation allied with Israel in some way, which is also a member state of the ICC, arresting Netanyahu or Gallant, but it is not entirely out of the realm of possibility.
Netanyahu reacted to the news by saying, in-part, “…Israel vigorously rejects the absurd and false actions and accusations against it by the ICC, which is a biased, discriminatory, and political body.”
A top Hamas official said that they believe the ICC’s decision to issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant is good news for the Palestinian cause.
Congressman Mike Waltz, who has been announced as President-elect Trump’s pick for National Security Advisor, said in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter): “The ICC has no credibility, and these allegations have been refuted by the U.S. government. Israel has lawfully defended its people and borders from genocidal terrorists. You can expect a strong response to the antisemitic bias of the ICC and UN come January.”
The ICC also issued an arrest warrant for Mohammed Deif, a top Hamas commander who is believed to have been killed in an Israeli airstrike during the summer. Hamas denies that Deif was killed.
The crimes that Mohammed Diab Ibrahim Al-Masri, known as “Deif,” is accused of include:
Crimes Against Humanity: murder, extermination, torture, rape, and other forms of sexual violence.
War Crimes: murder, cruel treatment, torture, taking hostages, outrages upon personal dignity, rape and other forms of sexual violence, and intentionally directing attacks against civilians.
All of the crimes that Deif is accused of, as listed in the ICC’s announcement, occurred in relation to Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel and its aftermath, when Hamas kidnapped Israelis and non-Israelis and held them hostage in Gaza.
This is a developing story, check back for updates.

Over 2M poor souls slaughtered in #IRAQ, alone, by my disgusting government, the #UnitedStates. And now a #USA sponsored genocide in #PALESTINE and #LEBANON. Then they have the b4lls to criticize #CHINA and #RUSSIA. Well last I checked, there aren't any military bases in Canada nor Mexico. Moreover, #BRICS combined has not been involved in 251 military interventions since 1991 like the government of the #UnitedStates. It is for these reasons I no longer vote #Democrat, much less #Republican. Both parties are parasites.
Eisenhower is one of the few good men (a general of all people) our country has seen. His 1961 farewell speech in which he warns the citizenry about the menace the US Military Industrial Complex represents for world peace is absolutely epic and on point.
