The Senator was 71 years old.
U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham has died, his U.S. Senate office announced moments ago.
A statement released by his office said:
“On the evening of Saturday, July 11, U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham passed away from a brief and sudden illness. Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period.”
Graham was 71 years old.

Police scanner audio obtained by NBC News indicates that emergency personnel responded to a report of a cardiac arrest at Graham’s Capitol Hill home Saturday night.
