Over the past year, I’ve noticed that whenever I — or any other Iranian in the diaspora — post videos or images of Iranians being subjected to brutal violence by Islamic Republic of Iran regime forces, some American progressives (often white) inevitably reply with responses that compare what those Iranians are facing to what Americans and migrants have faced during the Trump administration.
Replies like “just like the USA” and “almost as bad as ICE” flood my replies and direct messages.
I finally hit my limit a couple of days ago and felt compelled, for the first time, to record audio addressing these so-called progressives. It’s embedded in this post, and in an updated version of the post I will also include a YouTube link to the same audio in case you prefer to listen that way.
