As a big fan of both you and Dolly, I’m not sure how I missed how much she meant to you. I’m in East Tn, about 45 min ( 25 miles but winding roads of the foothills of the Smoky Mountains…) from Sevierville , her hometown & Dollywood. I told my husband when Queen Elizabeth died and all of the outpouring of grief happened…..that when Dolly passes it will be the same way here. I’m just heartbroken.
This one hits me hard as well, along with millions of other people, I'm sure. What a fucking icon and force of goodness she was, across several pathways. The world is a lot poorer today but so very much richer for having had her in it.
Her memory is already such a blessing. We were lucky to live at the same time as Dolly, may she rest in such peace and comfort.
