The gender pay gap has been proven time and time again to be a false narrative. Women make less than men on the whole because women choose jobs that pay less... PERIOD. When women work in the same fields as men, they tend to make MORE money from the start and the only reason it tends to trend downwards is because (the majority) aren't aggressive and don't ask for raises. OR! they leave for maternity and either don't come back or take a two or three year absence.
ALSO: Men do the more physically demanding jobs (for obvious reasons) and put their lives on the line... so yeah, they're paid more in those instances. I'd suggest doing some reading on the subject and be open to being wrong... because I used to be on your side until I actually dug a bit deeper.
